Three of us bought a day ticket which cost us Euro6.70. Its really cheap and you can go around Berlin city with it..Worth it ya...
So this is the place we visited:
1) Pieces of Berlin Wall
2) Holocaust Memorial: It is a series of blocks to remember the Holocaust. You can walk between the blocks and the ground starts to decline while walking, then it comes back up. This symbolizes how the Holocaust became increasingly severe and how it was finished by the end of the war. You can take great pictures there.
3) Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor)
It is one of the most famous monuments of Berlin. It was before a symbol of the division of Germany and now it is the symbol of unity. It really was built to commemorate the victory over Napoleon. The chariot with the Victory is beautiful and well worth the visit.
4. The Berliner Dom (Berlin Cathedral), completed in 1905, is Berlin's large largest and most important Protestant church as well as the sepulcher of the Prussian Hohenzollern dynasty. This outstanding high-renaissance baroque monument Has the Hohenzollerns linked to German Protestantism for centuries and under gone Renewed phases of architectural renovation since the Middle Ages.
5.Charlottenburg Castle (Charlottenburg)
It is the largest castle in Berlin and it is really worth the visit. Friedrich II ordered the construction of the castle for his wife Sophie Charlotte in 1695. It has a very nice picture gallery and the most beautiful belongs to Queen Luis. The ballroom is inspired by the nature with green walls. It also has an area where all the trappings of walls and ceilings are in silver color, instead of gold which was the most common, making it very nice and original. It is a shame you cannot take pictures inside. In the summer it is a very pleasant experience to walk through the gardens. It is better explored the castle helping by an audio guide in order to have more detailed information.
6. Museum Island
The five museums that comprise Berlin's famous Museum Island are located between the Spree River and the Kupfergraben.
7. Postdamer Platz: In the 1920s and 30s, the Potsdamer platz was the busiest and one of the liveliest squares in Europe. It was a major public transport hub and a popular entertainment district; the area contained numerous bars, cafés and cinemas.
8. Reichstag: After the founding of the German Empire in 1872, there was a need for a large parliamentary building in Berlin. It situated a few minutes walks from Berlin Gate.
9. Bosnian Mosque
10. Indian Restaurant, Amrit...Its Halal...(chicken only).
11. Turkei Mosque
12. Gelato Ice cream Cafe. The ice cream is really tempting and "Lecker".
13. Ritter Sport Restaurant and Shop
This is the famous brand of chocolate, and it is German Brand.
Before we went home, we took a tour with a double Decker bus no.200. So we can see Berlin at night.
16/3/2014
We went to the famous Lebanese Restaurant to buy a packed lunch and we did our prayer at their restaurant as we a in hurry. In this street there are a lots of Halal restaurant and Muslim Shop. This is like a little Arab's Street. Then we arrived at the Berlin ZOB on time, so we can catched the bus to go home in Saarbruecken..We arrived home safely at 11.30 pm..Fuhh...how tired and long journey yeah.
As a summary, I would recommended all of you to visit Berlin because its so much fun, and many things to do and to eat too...For the architecture students, you should visit Berlin because they offered you many artistic buildings and historic architecture. They are multi culture city too.
Last but not least... Zia Anis The Traveller.
